On Sunday 15 February Leeds City Council’s Sports and Active Lifestyles Team hosted a Pop Up Tennis event at Trinity Leeds. The session took place in the event space on the ground floor of Trinity and saw members of the community engage in a whole range of tennis based activities. Over 250 people took part on the day with many people commenting that it was incredible to see and try tennis in such a unique environment. On the day lots of younger people received prizes and certificates for demonstrating skills and application; the coaches on the day were giving out information on how people can engage in tennis within Leeds.
Neil Jones Active Sports officer for South and Central Leeds commented that “it was a great opportunity to use a unique location like Trinity Leeds to engage with young people and give information to inactive people on how they can access a whole range of sport and physical activity opportunities locally.”
Our next Pop Up event is Pop Up Running at Trinity Leeds on the 8 March 11.30am -4.30pm
