Leeds success at European Junior Championships

On Day 1 of the European Junior Championships, three female representatives from Leeds competed for Great Britian.

Georgia Coates won a Bronze medal in the 400m Individual Medley in a 5.0 second Life Time Best, 6th in the 800m Freestyle.

Magdalena Cygan came 4th in the 4 x 100m Freestyle Team,

Amelia Clynes qualified in 2nd place for the final of the women’s 200m Butterfly.

On Day 2 of finals Amelia Clynes was won a Bronze medal breaking the British Age Group record in the 200m Butterfly in a time of 2.11.46.

Day 3 of the European Junior Championships in Dordrecht saw, Amelia Clynes qualify in joint first position for the 100m Butterfly final. Amelia’s time of 1.00.29 is a New British Age Group record.

Day 4 Amelia Clynes gained a Silver medal in the final 100m Butterfly with a time of 59.96, another New British Age Group record. Georgia Coates qualified for the 200m IM final on the same day.

Day 5 Georgia won a silver medal in 2.14.74.
