Girls Summer Gymnastics Competition 2014

Over 50 gymnasts took part in the summer 4 piece apparatus competition on Sunday 6th July, hosted at Morley leisure centre.

Gymnasts train 2 hours per week within the Leeds City Council Gymnastics Scheme and work towards competing on the vault, beam, bar, and floor apparatus against other gymnasts from across the scheme.

There were 3 levels of competition, with different age categories in the larger competitions. The standard of gymnastics was extremely good and the level of skills performed had notably increased from previous competitions, showing how well both the gymnasts and coaches have worked.

The following gymnasts came away with overall titles; Level 1 Under 9 winner – Lola Reddish-Good (Kirkstall), Level 1 Under 11 winner – Olivia Grace Conway (Kippax), Level 1 Over 11 winner – Lydia Coyle (Morley), Level 2 Under 11 winner – Miriam Hoban (Kippax), Level 2 Over 11 winner – Chelsea Wood (Kippax), Level 3 winner – Ruby Jamsom (Fearnville). All results can be found below. Gymnasts will now work towards the Girls Winter Competition to be held later this year.
