Fearnville Bike Festival

The sun shone for the Fearnville Bike Festival event  on Sunday 8th June 2014 at Fearnville Leisure Centre.  Gee4orce and DAZL dance performed  a mass dance with the children from Seacroft and Gipton primary schools to the tune of Queen’s “I want to ride my Bicycle” .  


Leeds BMX Club had spectators cheering on their favourite racers in the official BMX race.


The Local Sky Ride – Roll out to Roundhay saw record numbers joining the ride, with  45 participants taking part in the ride from Fearnville Leisure Centre to Wykebeck Valley Way to Roundhay Park and back.  


Bikes were given a new lease of life at the cycle maintenance sessions through Bike Ability, participants gained knowledge on how to repair their cycles and how to create a bike from scratch with the Opportunities Inspiring Learning (OIL) team. Other activities included spinning sessions, martial arts  and skateboarding sessions.


Overall the day was very successful with over 600 people attending.
