Girls Floor and Vault Final 2014 – Sunday 23rd March 2014

Girls Floor and Vault Final 2014 – Sunday 23rd March 2014

This year saw a record high for entries into the girls floor and vault gymnastics final with 130 gymnasts competing from 9 leisure centres. Gymnasts firstly took part in an internal competition at their leisure centre and had to come in the top 5 in order to be selected for the finals. The finals were held at Morley leisure centre and was split into 3 different age categories with gymnasts competing individually on the floor and vault apparatus. The top 4 individual scores from each leisure centre then contributed towards a team score. All results are listed below.

In the 6-7yrs competition the overall winner was Ellie Traynor from Kippax, and the winning team were Kippax. In the 8-9yrs competition the overall winner was Antonia Duncan from Morley Friday, and the winning team were Armley. And in the 10-15yrs competition the overall winner was Brook Farrington from Morley Friday, and the winning team were Morley Friday. All gymnasts performed exceptionally well and will now train towards the competition criteria for next year’s competition.
