Synchronised Swimmer's have success at national level

At National Age Groups in December the City of Leeds Synchro Club won:

– 5 Gold
– 1 Silver
– 2 Bronze

And
– Doubled the medal count from 2012
– Had six athletes invited to England Talent Trials based on performance
– Four athletes were then selected for England Talent programmes 2014, with 3 selected to compete Internationally representing England in 2014

In addition Ian Watson, a core volunteer coach working with the programme, has won the BBC Sports Award ‘ Unsung Hero’ for Yorkshire. A 5 minute piece featured on Look North last night, including footage of the swimmers in action at JCCS Aquatics Centre. It demonstrates some of the centre, programme and Ian brilliantly.

The clip is available to watch until 6pm tonight on BBC iplayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b03k1zd0/. Our feature runs from 18mins until 23mins.

Ian is attending the BBC Sports Awards this Sunday in Leeds as he is now nominated for the National Award for ‘Unsung Hero’. We are all over the moon for him and have our fingers crossed!

A huge congratulations to all involved at City of Leeds Synchro Club
